NEMA TYPE 1:
Indoor use primarily to provide a degree of protection against contact with the enclosed equipment. These products
should only be used in areas where unusual service conditions do not exist.
NEMA TYPE 3:
Intended for outdoor use to provide a degree of protection against rain, sleet, and wind blown
dust. Undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure.
NEMA TYPE 3R:
Intended for outdoor use to provide a degree of protection from falling rain and sleet. Undamaged by the formation
of ice on the enclosure.
NEMA TYPE 4:
Intended for either indoor or outdoor use to provide a degree of protection from falling rain, splashing water
and hose directed water. Undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure.
NEMA TYPE 4X:
Intended for either indoor or outdoor use to provide a degree of protection from falling rain, splashing water
and hose directed water. Undamaged by the formation of ice on the enclosure. Resists corrosion.
NEMA TYPE 12:
Intended for indoor use to provide a degree of protection from dust, dirt, and dripping non-corrosive liquids.
